In Lacroisille, a Tarn village of a few hundred people, 3DPLANS operates 3D Plans Games, an independent game studio. We design folding puzzles for Android in which a flat plan is folded, edge by edge, into a small three-dimensional house.

Walls, roofs and staircases are drawn on a single sheet. The player decides in which order to fold each part so that the building stands up correctly, with doors facing the street and windows where they belong.

A wrong fold is simply undone, and the camera can be turned freely to inspect the model from every side. There are no timers, and every plan has at least one tidy folding order that has been checked by hand.

Later plans introduce balconies, arches and tower roofs inspired by the brick houses of the Tarn. The art looks like a real architect’s drawing, with fine lines on paper that turns into coloured walls as each fold is completed.

Finished houses are placed in a small village that grows with every plan.

Players can walk through the village they have built and see lights come on in the windows at dusk. The game is fully offline, contains nothing to buy and saves progress after every fold. Plans range from a simple garden shed to a three-storey townhouse with a spiral staircase, and each one has been folded on paper by hand before being turned into a level. The difficulty grows gradually, and players can switch on a guide that outlines the next sensible fold for a gentler experience. Completed houses can be rotated, zoomed and admired from every side, and the village map shows how the settlement has grown from a single cottage into a small community with gardens and a market square.
